Tremendously Grateful

Gratitude for one and all – for birds and things that sing, for ocean peaks and gum tree limbs, for thing that are elemental to the earth and sky, the things that make me wonder why and the apple in my eye – the delight of all this – and more – opening at my door – step through and say it, claim it, exclaim it! The fucking delightful new life – full – me and life all on all sides behind and beneath, surging forth in the seasonal glory – astounded by the bud furl – and black bird twirl – held up by the embrace of trees – see how my kids rush in to also embrace this trunken space – I am so fucking grateful right now. Hold the now – honour this feeling – new – it may pass but you never know, it will rise again – the full cup, the feasted table – full of noise, people, tankards of wine and beer – your priestess at the helm – shining eyes brightly at you – love rumbling in your loins – bliss and sheer walled mountain top experience in this house of pleasure. Write it down, chalk it up – the bill will be paid by grand father universe – you don’t need to count the cost – choose the cheapest fare – it is covered – you are in the coat tails of a supreme benefactor who requires nothing of you, loves to see you delighting in yourself – in your beautiful you-ness – this newness - not really new – he knew you then – setting the table as a boy, white starched cloth and English silverware- everything in its place – wine decanted and sparking through cut crystal – he knew in your focused eye, the delight of your heart – now on display in all your life – de-fucking - light – the night makes you shine even more brilliant – fires out now – calling in the party friends – from miles around they are astounded, pounded by your lavish – ness you dishes of deliciousness – and the humble clean up of a feast has taken you over too. This morning the kettle is singing, the pots have called you name, you are home – home in the lavish and ordinary – home – like the road you took to get here.
