Know yourself

Each sit I start with my own sweet presence. I try to feel into this - my, sweet presence - like a living gift waiting for me each morning - like a sunrise in my heart - like a body knowing that I’m already home. That way, I begin the day having already conquered that which most would take me down - self loathing - self rejection , comparison with other - not enoughness.

This sweet presence is my birthright and it is yours. Its what our mothers or fathers (if we had them ) saw and fell in love with - its what our lovers (if we were fortunate enough to meet them ) see and speak to even when we, the much covered over soul - can barely understand what the beloved is gazing at.

It is this indomitable preciousness that we carry deep within us until that tether is cut, until we fly off to another body - another world. This is the place of our deep joy and being-ness. There is no substituent for it with achievements or roles, or money or covering with false selves. It is us - and in the quiet of the morning, when it is half light - this secretive creature is most awake - we hear our own whispers and whimpers - coming from our dreams into our waking and in the moment we touch the earth with our feet, often forgotten. Such then is the taking the two minutes, the ten seconds, at anytime to breathe this breath of utter freedom - always yours, always mine.
