Spring rain

The rain is falling gently on the roof - I am wondering about the black peaches - will they be affected as they are in blossom? And all the world is affected by everything else - even as we have floods and fires in the south of our country - end times signs for sure. What are we up to?
What madness are we concocting as we try to find our way home alone? As we try to do without our higher power? Hubris, confusion, homogeneity, sameness. We build the wrong things, cycle back into consumerism when we cannot be quiet - cannot feel our collective grief, cannot weep and wail - in place of that pain we consume and produce, consume and produce.
It is very soul destroying and it is the mainstay of our western society. It doesn’t’ need to continue this way. We are finding wild places still. Even if it is our garden and the slug that ate the first shoots of asparagus - the first offering - always to the gods - whether slugs here or gifting of rice to ants in the amazon, the gods care that we acknowledge them - that we say we are but small ones who need guidance - who need the signs of nature and the stars to tell us how to live, where to go and what manner of stories to tell our young.
I am feeble without the land, without a connection to flowing streams and squarking birds - and slowly, slowly I am coming back to an infants delight in the unfurling of everything, so gradually around me and within me.
