Fearless

 Is not the absence of fear – or some superhuman quality of not having fear – neither a state where ones gets past fear but more a way of being with fear that doesn’t completely paralyse – a quality of able – ness – to get to and do the one next thing that is yours to do – to become. To manifest into the world. I think back over my actions – the ones that have been fear–less – that is actually not a true word now that I see it. Those times I have moved through resistance – and, each time is different – some – unlike me – write a song and it just wants to be written – the flow – but it requires a work – a sitting with, a trying to understand what is it that is trying to arrive in me – at this moment – through me – the work to decipher the subtle character of the muse – alive, always as she is. The pounding surf is mesmerising – nothing ventured nothing gained they say, but I say – there are many paths to your own enlightenment – there are many planes of existence and I say this to be generous to each and every one of us trying our best to be on our road and enjoy the damned thing. To get out of the way – to give over the keys and sit for a while in the passengers seat because we don’t always have to be in control - do not have to be so bold and wise - and surprise surprise – a new lens on our eyes – new dazzlement and cloaking of the remainder of our time to sink into – the new – is effervescent and unable to be put in a bottle – put it in your pipe, smoke the blue haze and sit and admire these days – these precious days we live in – don’t worry too much about the science – it is the wisdom of the poets that will get us through – the work of the artist will see us right – delight in that thing that cannot be monetised – has no purchase power – despises ever the notion of sale and two fingers at ya to the corporate eaters – this. Me, this piece of flesh is mine and I aim it at whom I please to feast upon – and delight in without spending a dime.
