The house that Jack built

In his house sat a mouse, eating curds and whey, and alongside that mouse was a spider, who sitting beside her asked poor Jack for some. He said - fuck you little spider, I have none - I never did, don’t ask me for some – go to your mother – I have none said the spider - go home then – I have none either. Lost and befuddled Jack and his legged friend starred at each other in amazement – neither had what the other wanted and neither had elsewhere to go. I know what said Jack – let us build us a house – and here the mouse chimed in – me too! Me too! I wish to be with you, three. And so it was that a Jack, mouse and spider became kin – and lived happily in their house of belief. And grief – for none had what the other wanted and none was able to content that part of each which they needed – alas, they did live together and this part is the kicker – they lived in company and thus became a strange transformation – for in the company of the spider – Jacks fears of the wild world subsided – and in the company of the mouse – Jack began to feel cheerful and warm. And in the company of Jack the spider lost his fear of man – and in the company of the mouse the spider had great fun and games. And in the company of Jack the mouse gained a house all of his own – his sovereignty. And in the company of the spider the mouse learned stillness. And so you see – these company ties have more merit than would first meet your eyes – though strange and though not meeting their wants some deep needs unlocked. I unlock when I ender into companionship with others like or unlike me - I would go it alone like Jack and build a house just for me – but what if it were a house for three? What if you were part of my home – showed me your gifts while I bestowed you mine? What a fancy this would be – we would sit and drink tea, look at the tree and be merry as could be.
