Celebrate

Celebrate when no one is watching.

When the world is falling, you are still dreaming

Celebrate with your fanciest hat

Put on your sequin top and admire

The way the light falls on you and gobbles you up.

Be weird - let the weirdness of your

own body be your solace.

Today, celebrate

That one thing you are proud of

that you’ve made it

this far

that you still have a dream

And that life still loves you.

Celebrate - and let all the riff-raff fall off of you

Dust your arms and chest -

Let a melody spring from the tapping

of your own fingers upon your own limbs

You are a symphony.

Part of that original chorus that called

life into being - the cosmic happening

When a god of love

saw you in their mind’s eye

And set forth across eternity to meet you

Celebrate, today, and let it be

a dance you find again tomorrow.
