Ocean
You are my ocean – vast, wide – I glide upon the surface – but down deep you keep on giving – columns of water – deeper, darker, stiller – resplendent with life and death – and all the universe caught in your world creating power - I am in awe of you – I test myself against you – bringing me down into the depths of my core – losing the fight in the ring of my mind – I counsel myself to soften – to keep being goo at the centre – remain on this track of transform, and, I miss you – sitting at an empty table in a place you would love – shining sun on my ears and the sounds of the café ringing all around me – you and I know this world – love people and food and here you are kneading bread – offering the people your care through hands, fingers, arms, sweat – the salt of your skin – tenderness too – all of you offered to be devoured in the mouths of the many – your own body offered as a sacrifice to the greater whole – wholesome – holy – sanctified – beloved – love – light - night – dance – sight – your red dress in black satin night – cat – fight – all one – all heaven hell – I hate the smell of burning flesh but here I am on a pyre for you – all aflame – wanting – loving, longing and seeing the pits in your eyes is enough – you are enough for me – more than enough – ample like the fullness of time – like the fullness of moon on that still night as we sit on the stairs and wonder at how we just got through one more gauntlet – one more passage – squeezing us with love – with the soul that wants to be met - meet me – I meet you – in all this famine land – I am still hungry for you – voracious for the food you hold to my lips – feed me.
