Try and fail

Try and fail trying. Try and try failing - this is better than having thought about succeeding a-lot and never tried the thing in question. Many of us live lives of quiet desperation - fantasising of things we want or a life we desire - or just balk, like me, at the prospect of failing at a new endeavour.
There is an energy this brings - we either keep our vehicle moving, keep pushing doors - asking, seeking and knocking as Jesus suggests we do - until a small door opens and we get in that way. Today, I mark my own words - I will call and prospect myself to at least two clients.
The trick is how I go about this - there is the thinking then there is the approach - the taking of one’s self seriously enough that this action is not all sound and fury - any door to door salesperson can speak the pitch. So, whats the magic of this piece?
My learning is it has to do with the clarity and directness of my ask, and being open to in the moment feedback that requires a steady gaze and self security - to keep one’s wits about as the pitch is adjusted specially to suit what the would-be client is saying - everything they are - and are not saying.
All of this requires presence - cultivated over years of trying and failing, trying and failing. And, even this advice can stop the actual action taking place. For even in the failed first attempt is a mountain of feedback - in ones own body and nervous system as well as in words. First, get yourself going by any means - then don’t stop till you get what you are after.
