There was once a city - so great - advanced in all ways, a people harmonious and magical, at one with their world and each other - and then, then - she ended. Water covered - Babel - Sodom - Hubral world - enough had taken place - the balance fatally disturbed and so nature took the reins once more and brought balance. All these ancient civilisations were not better than us - did not know more and were wiser as a whole - because they ended. A wisdom to match their science ended - and so ended them.
Peoples who have survived as a race undisturbed are those with no empire - with initiation baked in via their connection with land and place - not extractive and not too big for their boots. I’m thinking of Aboriginal Australia - at least 6,000 years of unbroken living with the land, with the spirits, called by and calling each other to and from the otherworld - criss crossed that great continent in the harshest of conditions.
Go to the ant sluggard and be wise - the small confounds the great - when too big for our boots we topple - hard and high is the fall - we are in such times - and the legacy of the great civilisations is simple - know thyself - be wise, be humble, and walk boldly with your God.
